Attendance

Attendance graph punctuality

Godfrey Ermen Primary School will work alongside parents, local community and Education Welfare service to support excellent levels of attendance and punctuality for all pupils.

We believe that the regular education of all children, irrespective of age, gender, race or ability is crucial to each and every pupil.

It is proven that there is a strong link between good attendance and attainment in children.  Therefore, in order for your child to reach their full potential, a high level of attendance is essential.

By law, all children of compulsory school age (5 to 18) must receive a suitable full time education. Once your child is registered at school you are legally responsible for making sure that they attend regularly. If your child fails to do so, you risk getting a penalty or being prosecuted. Holidays will not be authorised.

Parents and carers must:

  • Ensure that their children acheive a minimum attendance figure of 96%
  • Ensure that their children arrive at school promptly at 8.45am
  • Contact school via telephone, app or voicemail before 9am to report your child's absence.
  • Ensure that non-emergency medical appointments are made outside of school hours.
  • Ensure family holidays are taken out of term time.

Any child arriving after 9.25am will receive a U code which is an unauthorised absence.
